Description

Agilent HP 8565E Spectrum Analyzer 50GHz W/Color LCD ~                                   Loaded W/Options! Calibrated!

Comes with option 7 integrated into the lcd upgrade kit with all tep type displays. And opt 6 20 hz bottom coverage.

This is imho a far superior machine to the Malaysian Agilent brand 8565ec thats a little newer and poorly made . Why? Because the slightly nio older hp brand made in usa is rated to run to 100,000 hours on time! While these cheaper malaysian ec models have the ytos and power supplies etc… die left and right from cheaper materials.

And most importantly the ec model keypads are really hard to press and they get dirty easy and are a pain in the balls to clean or replace!

If you prefer crt we can discount it by 600$ and throw an A grade crt monochrome for ya.

The E models have far easier keypads to clean , press and replace . Which doesnt sound like much but makes a great deal of difference in basic use.unsure why agilent chose a much worse design than in previous models. Not impressed…. Luckily you get best of both worlds getting a superior keypad and superior display( a color lcd with excellent contrast at every angle unlike the rohdes which you have to look dead on or left to right and dead on. These lcd upgrade kits are excellently designed to say the least! Thats why they keep getting 650$ for the kits new and sell a ton!

True the ec has a vga out on the rear but honestly without having the softkeys on the monitor or having a touchscreen , its not useful at all. Other than that theres no difference in performance comparing the e and ec models.

As for 50 ghz analyzers this is the only game in town for the price! Rohde and anritsu only hit 44 ghz if that.

The only comparable one is another agilent that runs 30k$!

These things have really great stable performance from 27 to 50 ghz too! And with a great rythm like the one thats in here, youre set!

The rythm and yto are the two big problematic issues on this model and we refurbish both parts to like new with long warranties so youre sure to have the reliability you need and deserve for a high end item such as this!

We use this identical unit in our lab for automated calibrations . We sold our 8565ec because of the tricky buttons, and bought one of these and added lcd which we do as a service for 1000$ if you have one already that needs one. But If you have the lcd kit we only charge 350$ for the extensive labor it requires soldering small points to the cpu a2 board.

The lcd is great to look at and best part its wayyy better for taking quick screen shots as the camera doesnt sync well at all on crts.

Plus its pretty easy to go in and swap ccfls or upgrade to led backlight for cheap over the years. We can do this as well for you. Leds are twice as bright and last 3 times as long and produce much less heat and power consumption.

Can add option 8 signal ID for external mixers for 400$ ,, 6 for 200$ : 20 hz coverage, 1 or 5 for an extra 50$ each : 2nd if out or external alt sweep out.

Opt 8 signal id is a must for using external mixing, because it isolates the true signal.

The frequency response is super accurate and flat across the full span.

This has the newer model gold low band mixer with the active internal preamp getting you 6-8 db lower noise floor aka danl.

There is plenty of room in the full spans DANL to adjust any future amplitude changes

Optional for an extra 300$ , it can have a fresh NIST traceable calibration with full 25 + page data report!!! (before it ships) otherwise just a cert and sticker come standard.

If you want the phase noise or spurious measurement software, it’s an extra $100 as shown for both on a mass memory module.

We also have a 3rd party phase noise utility that connects to Windows and is a better program overall.

We also sell a 50-75 ghz preselected mixer designed for this machine. So none of that annoying spurious mixing gargbage you get with normal external mixing. Its an extra 1800$ and works nicely with option 8.
